Scariest Day Of My Life
Now that I have calmed down and stopped crying, I think I can post this.
On my way home today I stopped to get gas. Julia was in the back seat and dropped her ball to the way back and wanted it. So I said I would get it when we stopped. So we are at the gas station and I turn the car off. At first I thought of leaving it partially on to leave some air going, but decided against it. However, I then left the keys in the ignition. I "unlock" the doors so I can get in the way back to get the ball and open my door up all the way to let air get in the car while the gas pumps.
I go to the back back to open it and it is locked. I accidently locked it instead of unlocked it. Well my jiggeling of the back door made my front door close....with keys inside and most importantly, with Julia inside.
Talk about heart stopping. DH has a key but it would take him 30 minutes to get home. My phone is in the car and so is my wallet with a back up key (lot of good that key does us). So I had to call 911. They sent a firetruck, but all they could do is break a window. Which ended up being harder then they expected. We have good windows. After ten bashes with an ax, it was still 100% in tack. And Julia was just laughing the whole time. She was more excited about the firetruck then anything. Finally they pulled out this special tool that shattered the window with a little push.

Julia did great. It wasn't until I started crying that she got upset. Poor thing. I can't even begin to explain everything going through my head. Granted, I am pregnant and full of hormones and stressed about the new baby on the way who is breech and all. But this was the straw. I just could not stop crying. DH rushed home and finally got me to stop crying. Insurance will replace the window tonight, so that is not an issue. Shew. Man, what an afternoon. I just felt so helpless.
