Viral Meningitis
So much to all take in. Keira has had many tests done and lots of big fancy words have been used.
Her Ped says she has viral meningitis. From my research this is the lesser of two evils. They are still treating her as if it could be Bacterial, but the Doc is pretty sure it is Viral. So that explains her fever.
But it doesn't explain her abdomen. It is still distended and very painful to the touch. They did an Upper GI test on her. She had to drink this Barium stuff and then they watched it pass through her body. She did so well. Such a trooper. They also took some x-rays of this stuff going through. We were down there for 3 hours.
Those results came back "normal". They also could see her appendix, so that ruled that out as being the culprit.
So now they are thinking of doing a CT Scan, but the Barium has to be out of her system before they can do this. So we have to wait for her to poop it all out. I can't feed her either until she does this.
She has been pretty lethargic all day and slept most of the day. She cries any time you touch her belly or move her head to quickly. Poor babe.
Looks like we will be staying the night.
