Just me and my Baby
Steve just left to go home. He has to feed the fish and the cats. So it's just Keira and I again. She still had some Barium in her at last x-ray. So we are playing the waiting game again waiting for her to have two good BMs. Then they will x-ray her again. If that x-ray comes back clean with no Barium, then we can finally have that CT Scan. However, Keira and I earned another nights stay at Hotel Medical City. They gave her a suppository that made her go within minutes. But we still need one more. She keeps trying but it is obviously hurting her.
I am getting a little worn out. I haven't been home in 5 days. Steve and I were going to swap out, but they keep saying tomorrow we should get to go home so then I keep staying. Tonight is my 5th night here. It's starting to wear on me.
Good news is the ID confirmed it is not Bacterial Meningitis. Woohoo. That is a huge relief.
The surgeon mentioned a lot of big words today but did not seem concerned. He still stands by his first gut reactions that she does not have anything surgical. But he still wants to make sure with the CT. He and my Ped hope to see her lymph nodes in this CT because they think those are the problem. Lymph M-something. A viral infection in her lymph node that may have cause a perforation and some Peritonitis in her intestines. Like I said, big words.
So hopefully we can get the CT tomorrow. Our Ped realizes we are very ready to go home and the longer she is here, the more chances she has of catching something else from the other sick patients here. So she has mentioned sending us home once we have confirmation of no Barium and then having us do an out patient CT. But I think that was if we got the Barium out today and then did the CT tomorrow. Oh well. Hour by hour.
Right now I am about to go and try to put her to sleep for the 4th time tonight. I swear they have an alarm on her. Not two minutes after she falls asleep they come in to check something and wake her up. Or just come in here talking loud and wake her up. Come on people. Just because you are a night owl doesn't mean my 6 week old is. Grrr.
Oh, almost forgot. My sis is coming tomorrow to stay with us for the week. She is going to take care of the two older girls. Steve has to go out of town for most of the week and since I need to focus on Keira right now, she can help with the other two. I am so excited. She is my best friend and the girls absolutely love her. And she gets to meet Keira. Now if we could just get out of this joint.
