Foot Update
I went for my follow up appt. for my foot today. Not so good. It has not healed AT ALL. So I am obviously still in the boot.
She wants to put me on crutches, but that is not feasible. Newborn and two other kids, traveling DH. Yeah right. So I have promised to try much harder to stay off my foot.
So instead she is putting me on a bone stimulator. She said if it was a clean break then there is all this good stuff floating around to help heal it and it can get in there easier. But with a closed fracture like this, that stuff can't get in there to heal it. So we are going to do the bone stimulator for 3 weeks. It can quicken healing up to 35% faster. I have to wear it twice a day for 30-40 minutes. It is some machine type thing that I have to get trained on. So we will see how that goes. I am waiting for some lady to call me to set up a time to meet today or tomorrow before we leave for DC.
Then I go back in 3 weeks. If it is working, YAY! If it is not, crutches at the least, BOO!
So basically I am back at square one. Very frustrated and upset. We are lining up wheelchairs in DC. Not how I wanted to spend my first time there. And DH and I talked and we are both going to work harder at keeping me off my foot. He is looking into something at his work about getting a Nanny to come to the house. But I honestly don't think his firm will cover it. But we'll see.
So keep me in your thoughts. It has already been a very rough and long 5 weeks and it's even harder now with no light at the end of the tunnel....yet.
