Life Is Never Dull here

Tonight is "Date" night for Daddy and the girls. I am co-hosting a baby shower this evening for a very good friend so Steve is taking the girls out on a date tonight. Julia LOVES date night. Sevi likes them too, but she isn't in to them as much as Juls...yet.

So this morning Julia wakes up and comes down stairs...already dressed for her date. She has a nice long black dress on, a bead bracelet, a ring, and a headband in her hair. All of this before 7:30 AM. You think she is excited? Every time something happens today, she counts down. First it was "Breakfast, lunch, nap, snack, then date". Now that lunch is over it is "Nap, snack and then date".

Steve has been doing this with them since they were born. He enjoys it. He has left them notes asking them out on a date. He has brought flowers home for them before their date. I think it is a great thing for all of them.

So when Julia was asked where she wanted to go on her date with Daddy.... "Hootels". (AKA Hooters...LMBO) Yep, my daughter wants to go on a date with Daddy to the boob joint. Food MUST be good.

Keira is a crawling machine now. I am not use to it. I put her down in my bedroom while I was in the closet. My bathroom between us. I heard a crash and turned to see her pulling a peanut butter cookie out of the trash she just dumped out of my trash can. Ugh. And every time I put her down and leave the room, she is off somewhere else. Guess it is time to keep her contained.

She has also started pulling herself up on things. Which means we need to drop the crib mattress this weekend. She is even trying to crawl up the stairs. I am not ready for all of this. I want my quiet, non-mobile baby back.

And then there is Sevi. Sweet little Sevi. I have gotten pretty good at watching her while on the computer. I am also pretty good keeping tabs on her while I am on the phone. However, I made a fatal mistake today. I answered the phone and it was my GF. She was calling to let me know that there was something on DAM I had to see. So here was my mistake. Talking on the phone with Shannon while looking on the computer. Apparently I can't do both of those AND keep tabs on Sevi. Julia starts yelling that Sevi has a pen. Eeek. I go running to the front room. Too late, she has already drawn on the couch. Luckily it is already trashed and is "their" couch, but still. Oops, my fault. I won't do that again.

Just a typical day in our home.

Compliment Jar

Julia - I love your excitement. I love how you get so happy about things. And especially to see you get so happy about spending time with your Dad.

Sevina - You never cease to amaze me. You keep me young. Your energy keeps me going.

Keira - You wonder right now is so fun to watch. Seeing you get so excited about learning news things is what motherhood is all about.
