The Surgery Was Successful

I am home and recovering. The Doc spoke with Steve and said everything went as he had thought. It ended up taking a bit longer and he had to cut out a little more then expected (Steve said it ended up being a little over an inch long). But otherwise, everything went great.

I have to stay off it for the next 3-4 days. I am now the owner of a lovely pair of crutches. I have a soft cast on up to the top of my ankle with a sandle boot on. No clue how many stitches are in there. i won't know till I go back next week for a check-up and hopefully removal of the cast and the stitches. Bathing entails a bag over my foot and no clue how I am suppose to go upstairs. And driving is out of the question. I am suppose to call tomorrow to find out when I can drive. But as long as I am taking the pain meds, I know for sure that I am not allowed to drive.

So far so good. But then again, I am all drugged up right now. The older two girls are at my in-laws for a couple days.

Keira continued to throw up till 9:30. We were in the waiting room when I caught it with the towel. But Steve said she did not throw up anymore after that. Shew. She has had water and cheerios and had kept them down. I nursed her right after I woke and that stayed down. She took a nice long nap this afternoon but then woke and started to get fussy. My meds were making me very groggy so Steve took her for a walk while I rested. When they were right by the house she ended up throwing up two more times. UGH! We thought she was done. No more this evening. She is very tired so we put her down 30 minutes early. I am hoping for a better night since I am not mobile right now and because I just want her to feel better.

Thanks for all the prayers and thoughts today. Here is what my cast and boot look like right now.

And I wanted to get a close up of this. They had me initial the foot that was having the surgery so there could be no mistake which foot to cut open. I thought that was somewhat logical. Then my Doc came in (who I have to say was actually pretty cool and more involved then most Docs during pre-op) and he initialed it too. You can't see his though, it is under the cast
