The Frogs

We have a love hate relationship with the frogs who live in our pond. I love them, Steve could do without them.

They are very noisy. VERY loud. And the pond is right outside our bedroom window. So they have been known to keep us up. But I am an animal nut. I would have wild animals everywhere if I could. So these frogs are just a part of my family. Plus, ever since Hannah, frogs will have an even more special place in my heart.

Last night Steve was heading out the door to do something when he saw this little guy...

He turned around and came right back in. So I went to finish what he needed all the while laughing at my big strong man not wanting to "deal" with a frog. When I went out, I found these little guys...

How cute are they? Amazing that these little suckers are the ones who are SO loud in our backyard.

Sadly, last weekend something went wrong with our pond. The waterfall stopped and pieces of foam were floating. So Steve pulled up the filter to find two frogs had met their demise in it. Poor things. I made him clean them out. I don't do dead animals. I am a HUGE animal lover. I can't handle dead ones very well. So he very begrudgingly cleaned it out and the pond is up and running again. Rest in peace little froggies.

I was happy to see that that did not scare off the other frogs and they are still coming home.

We have them too! We have Tyronnosaurus Toad and Taquisha. They are fun. Don is always picking them up. He's been picking them up and showing Mari. She actually reached out and tried to touch it. I wish I would've had my camera then!
