One Year Ago Tonight

I was 9 months and 1 day pregnant. We all went to dinner at Cheddar's. I had been having good contractions off and on for a week but they always stopped. At dinner I was tired and just not 100%. Steve took the girls to the bathroom and I had a good contraction. nothing out of the norm. But a few ladies at another table saw and were very concerned for me. LOL They were sweet but driving me crazy. There was another couple next to us who had a grandbaby on the way and they were very talkative with me. We all finished dinner and headed home. I was still having contractions off and on, but nothing regular. Came home and put the girls to bed. Laid down on the couch to time the contractions, but they were so small an irregular. DH went to bed as we were up the night before with Sevi. I stayed on the couch to time them some more since they hadn't stopped.

I fell asleep and was awakened by a good contraction followed by a weird pop sensation. I waited a minute to see if anything happened because it reminded me of when my water broke with Juls. But with Juls I was 9 CM and had an epi.

5 minutes went by and nothing. So I nod back off to sleep to be awakened by another contraction and all of a sudden some peeing/wet sensation. I quickly rolled off the couch onto my knees on the floor. I could really start to feel it so I jumped up (as quickly as a 9 month pregnant woman can) and ran into the bedroom. Woke Steve up as I ran by saying "Are you ready for a baby, my water just broke." Poor thing was so tired. He jumped up and got his barings. I was standing on a bathroom rug when it dawned on me to jump into the shower.

Man, water breaking is very very messy. So I stood in the shower and started making the necessary calls. I called my Midwife, my Girlfriend who is a Midwife and my In-laws to come watch the girls.

The contractions started getting stronger and we had a 45 minute drive, so we started getting everything ready all while timing the contractions on the nifty on-line timer. Around midnight we decided it was time to head in.

Here I am 2 days before she was born. The day before my water broke...
